Stories that will stir you

The sky was watching over the town like a lion watches over its prey. The dull gloomy atmosphere followed me wherever I went. The streets were busy and overcrowded and I felt like a mouse compared to the millions men and women, rushing, hurriedly to be the first ones to enter the nearby shops. Mum and Dad were far ahead of me and I was quickly behind thanks to the jungle of shoppers. When I finally made it out of the maze of the people mum and dad were already entering he bustle of shops.

They’d told me to wait on the bench outside. At first I was totally okay with that but as time went by I began t get a little twitchy and strange, weird thoughts began to cross my mind. I felt scared and alone and I couldn’t help but have a little wander t see where they had gone. The longer I walked the more lost I became, and the more lost a I became the more frightened I was. I knew I ‘d have to take a break at some time so I sat down to rest. All I could do was cry, cry in sadness and pain.

Eventually I stopped myself to find an old lady sitting beside me. She said she saw me crying and thought I needed some comforting. I nodded in despair. She asked me why I was crying and I told her what happened. She promised that she would find my parents. Hours passed and the lady had asked many people but none of them were my parents. I thought I’d never find them, when out of the distance appeared two worried figures. “Mum and dad” I cried as I ran into their arms. I didn’t care where they had been, I was just glad to have them back.
